Responsibilities
- Work with a cross-functional team (product & polymer teams) to translate initial ideas into an innovative product design, empathetically connect with healthcare professional and patient customers, and drive customer-centric market research for product development.
- Develop and implement a comprehensive new product release and go-to-market strategy that fits and influences OPT’s overall product roadmap. Provide customer/patient insights to the cross-functional teams by developing a strong working knowledge of the medical device market segments that the technology platform can penetrate.
- Lead and execute the GPO strategy along with partnership building to achieve brand and revenue objectives. Champion highly visible strategic initiatives and key partnerships.
- Create the PM function and methodologies that are right for OPT. This includes analyzing opportunities, establishing comprehensive plans, managing risk, and developing financial models around revenue, pricing, costs, and projections.
- Develop production and marketing strategies and tactics to ensure effective product placement relative to market opportunity, working closely with product development for a specific product, brand, or product area over its entire life cycle.
- Continuously collect and analyze data on how our products are faring in the market, identify areas for improvement, and develop strategies to address them (i.e. reducing costs, decreasing CAC, increasing pipeline conversion rate, etc.)
- Form a perspective and direction on regulatory risk & opportunity profiling – both helping current sales team capture near-mid-term success in Class I products, while developing and managing longer term development projects with customers bringing to market Class II and Class III opportunities.
Requirements
- Minimum of 10 years of medical device marketing and sales experience, or an advanced degree with 5 years of relevant experience of successfully bringing multiple Class I and/or Class II products to market.
- Demonstrated ability to develop and implement marketing plans across geographies and product lines and customer types. Experience working with unmet needs, requirements and building product launch plans.
- BS/BA degree in relevant field; MBA is preferred.
- Strong problem-solving skills. Comfort with quantifying and mitigating risk, and with plotting a defensible path forward through uncertainty. Ability to contribute experience with PM processes from past experiences, and a willingness to adapt them to the unique environment at OPT.
- Ability to balance between conflicting priorities and needs across the organization and customer base.
- Excellent teamwork and collaboration skills both internally and with external partners and customers; proven ability to influence cross-functional teams without formal authority.
- Strong written and verbal communication. Ability to take ambiguous situations and add structure and clarity for the team.
